Hearing
Aid Technologies
Legacy® Digital Series:
All of Lotus Express’s
hearing devices incorporate state-of-the-art technology
that ensures the best quality sound enhancement available.
The cornerstone of our advanced design is the LEGACY®
Digital Series incorporating the latest digital technology
with features that fit most hearing losses and give
users more control over their hearing. Powerful enough
for most hearing losses, LEGACY® is amazingly
simple to operate. Your dispenser enters your name
and audiometric data, then clicks on “Best Fit.”
The LEGACY® software does the rest - assisted
by interactive parameters that actively involve you
in fine-tuning the fitting and providing a high-quality
custom product that meets your needs.
A manual volume control - standard in all models -
allows the user to adjust the volume and turn the
instrument on and off. A highly sensitive directional
microphone - available on select LEGACY® models
- offers one of the most beneficial techniques for
improving speech comprehension. Other programmable
settings let you change between fully customized programs
adapted to quiet, noisy and telephone environments
or other changes in volume.
User Benefits:
| ·
|
The
precision of digital computer technology |
| ·
|
Availability
of Automatic Signal Processing circuits which
are not available with nonprogrammable aids |
| ·
|
Multiple
memories for various listening situations |
| ·
|
Multiple
circuit options within a single aid which achieve
different sound qualities |
| ·
|
Automatically
achieves more volume for soft, high frequency
sounds and less volume for the more intense, low
frequency sounds |
| ·
|
Capable
of retaining the patient’s complete audiometric
file and preferred listening program for various
environments |
| ·
|
Ability
to readjust the prescription of the aid should
the hearing loss change |
Programmable Technology:
Analog circuitry, can be programmed by your hearing
healthcare professional based on your hearing loss
and likes/dislikes, automatic volume control. They
are not classified as fully digital.

Computer
programmable technology offers a better way to
accommodate a given patient’s amplification
needs because it allows the greatest flexibility
and most fine-tuning capability. Incoming sound
is separated into bands, which are manipulated
and processed independently. |
Advanced
Technology:
Advanced technology hearing aid circuitries employ
a more recent scientific development in amplification
electronics known as non-linear or compression amplification.
The result is a hearing aid with the ability to limit
the level of incoming sound. This delivers a more
natural sound throughout the patient’s entire
listening range, without getting too loud or too quiet
as can be the case with conventional hearing aids.
User
Benefits:
| ·
|
Sounds

Conventional or Analog:
Traditional analog circuitry
acts as basic volume control for all sounds, allowing
only for minor adjustments, you have to turn the volume
control wheel to adjust loudness.
